ANDREA KELLY- BFA, School of Visual Arts, New York City. Roy Lichtenstein scholarship award for excellence. School of Visual Arts and New York Academy Graduate School of Figurative Art, continuing education.
Andrea Kelly’s figure and landscape paintings explore the evolving nature of our relationships and the world around us, often in hyper-colors, giving the viewer a heightened awareness of light, form, and color.
Born and raised in Bayside, New York, Andrea earned her B.F.A. at School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. She later began an intensive study of the human figure and anatomy, working closely with mentor and former professor from School of Visual Arts, James Kearns. She participates regularly in continuing education classes in areas such as painting, anatomy, and printmaking.
Teaching experience includes eight years of private workshop sessions for children and teens. As a visiting artist and guest speaker, she has taught figure drawing and classical painting techniques, and has lectured on various art history subjects at schools and art associations.
